RULES

Essex County has some of the best wine in the world and there is no better way to enjoy the surrounding region then by pedalling your way through it. You’ll be able to sip the local vino and learn about the winery. Join us as we cycle our way through the county and experience the tastes, sights and sounds of our region. Participants on our Wine Trail Ride visit 2-3 wineries on each ride and are then treated to a local meal made with products from Essex County.

Our guide will be on hand to show us the way and answer questions and a support vehicle will follow to carry all your purchases. Tickets for Wine Trail Rides sell out quickly so if you are interested, purchase your tickets early.

A few things to keep in mind for each ride:

Bring a bike!

Very important component of a bike ride. All participants must bring their own bike to the meeting point at the designated time or rent one in advance through Wine Trail Rides.  The route consists of a combination of road way and gravel trails. It is important that you check your bike (tire pressure, etc) before you come out on the ride.

Helmets are required.

Safety is always at the forefront of anything we do, so please ensure that you bring a helmet with you.

Stay hydrated.

Yes, we are going on a wine tour but for the rides in between stops you will need to stay hydrated. Bring a bottle of water to keep on hand while you ride.

Snacks.

The rides normally last between 4-5 hours before we reach our final destination for a great local meal. We suggest bringing a small snack (i.e. trail mix, granola bar) to munch on along the way.

Dress appropriately.

Take a quick peek at the weather before heading out to ensure you’re wearing something suitable for the type of weather expected. If it is a sunny, warm day, we recommend bringing sunscreen for protection.

Buying Wine.

This is the perfect opportunity to stock up on local wine. If you are interested in purchasing bottles of wine at the vineyards we visit, no worries! Our support vehicle will pick up the purchases and bring them to you at our last stop.

No Refunds.

There are no rain dates or refunds.

Dinner.

At the end of each ride, we’ll have a long table dinner made with the products of our region. While the winery will provide tastings prior to the meal, those wishing to have a glass of wine with their meal can purchase them separately.

Have fun!

We are pretty excited about these rides and are getting a great response from everyone. We encourage everyone to come out, join us and have a great time!

WindsorEats will keep all participants informed of any changes as the dates approach so don’t forget to provide us with your email when you purchase tickets.
